Ingredients:

  • 4-5 large, ripe lemons
  • 2 tablespoons of date sugar or coconut sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 3 cups of cold, filtered water
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Optional: Sparkling water (for a bubbly twist)
  • Optional variations: Lavender drops, mint leaves, basil sprigs

Method:

  1. Gather Your Ingredients

Before you embark on your lemonade-making journey, make sure you have all the necessary ingredients at hand. Fresh, ripe lemons are the star of the show, while date sugar or coconut sugar adds a touch of natural sweetness. Consider having some fresh herbs like mint, basil, or lavender drops ready for an exciting flavor twist.

  1. Prep the Whole Lemons

Wash the lemons thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or residue. Cut off any stems and slice the lemons into quarters, keeping the peel on. The vibrant lemon peel not only adds flavor but also a wonderful aromatic essence to your lemonade.

  1. Blend the Magic

Place the quartered lemons in a high-speed blender. Add 2 tablespoons of date sugar or coconut sugar to balance the tartness. Pour in 1 cup of cold, filtered water to help with blending. Secure the lid tightly and blend on low to medium speed for about 30 seconds. The goal here is to break down the lemons into a fine pulp while retaining some texture.

  1. Strain for a Smooth Finish

To achieve a smoother consistency, strain the blended lemon mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher. This step will remove any larger pieces of pulp and create a more refined texture.

  1. Add Water and Chill

After straining, add the remaining 2 cups of cold, filtered water to the pitcher and stir gently to combine. For an extra chill, you can refrigerate the pitcher for about 30 minutes before serving.

  1. Serve and Customize

Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the whole lemon blender lemonade over the ice.

  1. Bubbly Boost (Optional)

If you’re craving a fizzy element, consider adding a splash of sparkling water to your lemonade. The effervescence will elevate your drink to a whole new level of refreshment.

Customize your Fresh lemonade recipe with lemons

Now it’s time to get creative! Leave the lemonade as is for a pure citrus burst, or experiment with the optional variations:

  • Lavender Drop: Add a drop or two of culinary-grade lavender essential oil to each glass for a fragrant and soothing twist.
  • Minty Fresh: Tear a few fresh mint leaves and add them to the glasses for a cooling and invigorating touch.
  • Basil Bliss: Place a sprig of fresh basil in each glass for a hint of herbal sophistication.
